Toby is a two-year-old red neutered pit bull. He came to the Palmdale Animal Care Center on March 4. He was running around neighborhood of East Avenue R-12. The person who turned him in said he tried to find his owner around that neighborhood but had no luck. Toby has found to have a gentle and dainty demeanor. During his time at the play yard, he has displayed tolerance and non-reactive with other dogs. He allows being handled and seeks the attention and approval of his handler. He seems not to mind if other dogs come around him. Toby is easy to leash and knows how to walk on leash. Luna is a two-year-old brown spayed German shepherd. She was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as a surrender by her previous owner, who could no longer care for her. Luna is a people-friendly dog. She seeks attention, rolls over for belly rubs and just wants to cling unto people. She is easy to handle, allows being leashed and knows how to walk on leash. In the play yard, Luna was seen to be selective when playing with other dogs. She is barrier reactive but allowed other dogs to sniff her once in the play yard. She loves exploring and gives warning to other dogs when they come around her space. Luna can benefit well when sent to a dog behavior training where she can be taught how to behave better around other dogs. Sammie is a 14-week-old gray male shorthaired rabbit. His owner turned him in because they didn’t have enough time to spend with him. He is very responsive to attention from people and likes snacks. Also, he is tame and easily handled. He will make a great pet companion for someone. Winston is a three-year-old male neutered domestic shorthaired cat. He was brought to the Lancaster Animal Care Center as a stray by a good Samaritan who noticed he was injured. He did have a puncture wound to his leg and will need follow up care by a private vet, but he is well on the road to recovery. He is a very friendly boy that would like nothing more than to snuggle. Cooper is a nine-year-old, male German Shepherd. His owner passed away and the family wasn’t able to continue to care for him. In a playgroup setting, he was very friendly and tolerant of all the dogs he met. He solicited attention from the handlers often with soft eyes, and a soft tail wag and maintained a soft demeanor the entire time. Cooper is available for public adoption with children middle school-aged and over recommended and calm friendly dogs recommended. He will also go out with a health waiver for an old age neuter to be performed by a private vet.
