Hero
Hero is a nine-month-old, tan, altered Dogue De Bordeaux that was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as an owner surrender. He was nervous and shaking while being examined but wagged his tail once his name was called. He displayed a gentle reaction with the medical staff and his runner. Hero is social and non-reactive with other dogs and is friendly to the staff. He was easy to take in and out of the kennel and has allowed being handled. During his play yard time, Hero was at first nervous. When the handler coaxed him, he remained in the middle while trembling, as the runner opened the gate. The handler knelt down and Hero cautiously approached to sniff his hand. He lowered his body with concerned eyes as the loop leash was place over his head. He was hesitant to enter once he saw the other dogs. He then walked up to the play yard fence, stopping short to sniff the dogs at the fence. He relaxed with the handler as the collar was placed around his neck. He walked away to explore the yard. He play bowed in front of a female Shepherd to entice play and the two took off, briefly chasing each other. There was minimal contact as they ran. He continued exchanging soft greetings with other dogs while in the yard, displaying a gentle/dainty play style. Hero is required to be in a home with high-school aged children. He was noted to be good with other big dogs. To meet Hero, visit the center during its public hours of 2 to 5 p.m., daily, and 2 to 7 p.m., Wednesdays.

Bing Bong
Bing Bong is a two-year-old, red, altered, male Siberian Husky that was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as a stray. He was scared and nervous at first but didn’t show any aggression. He allowed being handled and examined by the medical staff. Bing Bong was tolerant and non-reactive with other dogs as well as people-friendly, easy to take in and out of the kennel. During his play yard time, Bing Bong was relaxed as the runner approached. He retreated to the rear of the kennel as the gate was opened. The handler coaxed him as he presented the loop leash. Bing Bong lightly flinched as the handler lifted the loop. He dodged the loop leash a few times as the runner tried to place it over his head. Bing Bong required coaxing to exit the kennel. He pulled lightly on the leash as they walked to the catch pen. He entered the pen with concerned eyes and a tense body. He avoided eye contact, turning his head away from the handler. He briefly approached the play yard fence to greet the dogs in the play yard with concerned eyes and a tense body. He entered the yard and was approached by a male Labrador. He was tense with hackles raised as he tolerated a brief exchange. He continued to greet calm dogs, avoiding higher-energy ones completely. Bing Bong is required to be in a home with high school-aged children and also required to be in a home with calm dogs. To meet Bing Bong, visit the center during its public hours of 2 to 5 p.m., daily, and 2 to 7 p.m., Wednesdays.
