EDWARDS AFB — Desert senior Jaleel Walker scored 42 points for the Desert boys basketball team in an 84-35 High Desert League win against Frazier Mountain on Tuesday night at Desert High.
Walker also had six offensive rebounds and three assists for the Scorpions (8-3, 4-1) and teammate Emil Rogers added 10 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Every player for Desert scored in the victory and the Scorpions finished with 23 assists and only five turnovers.
“We had a chance to run through our offense,” Desert assistant coach Ernest Nelson said. “They executed the offense really well tonight.”
Desert will play at Boron on Friday.
Lancaster Baptist 29
ROSAMOND — The Rosamond boys basketball team beat Lancaster Baptist 58-29 on Tuesday at Rosamond High.
Abraham Grimes led the Roadrunners (4-7, 1-3) with 14 points, Colby Adams finished with 10 points and Quincy Tyler added nine points.
“It was a good game for us, fresh off the break,” Rosamond coach Johnny Johnson said.
Rosamond will play a High Desert League game at California City on Friday. Cal City beat Rosamond 84-81 in the Rosamond Tournament on Dec. 1.
Desert Chr. 74, Lone Pine 58
LONE PINE — The Desert Christian boys basketball team opened Desert Mountain League play with a 74-58 victory over Lone Pine on the road on Tuesday.
Isaiah Diaz led the Knights (12-6, 1-0 DML) with 29 points, adding five rebounds, one assist and six steals.
Desert Christian’s Caleb Gott recorded 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Jerek Stevenson added 16 points, three rebounds, one assist and three steals.
The Knights return home to take on Mojave on Friday.
Rosamond 72, Littlerock 6
ROSAMOND — The Rosamond girls basketball team defeated Littlerock 72-6 in a non-league game on Tuesday.
Jazmine Borrego led the Roadrunners (8-10) with 22 points, while Ashley Marquez scored 15 and Hannah Grimes added 14.
Rosamond returns to High Desert League play at California City on Friday. The Roadrunners are 3-1 in league play.
Littlerock (0-11) returns to Golden League play next Tuesday at Palmdale.
Lone Pine 66, Desert Chr. 21
LONE PINE — The Desert Christian girls basketball team lost to Lone Pine 66-21 on Tuesday at Lone Pine High.
Cambria Parker led the Knights with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Desert Christian will host Mojave on Friday.
Lancaster 65, AV High 32
LANCASTER — The Lancaster girls basketball team remained undefeated in Golden League play with a 65-32 victory at Antelope Valley High on Tuesday.
Kenya Edelhart led the Eagles (14-4, 7-0) with 15 points, transfer Kendall Keller scored 13 points in her first game and Sabrina Jeans finished with 12 points.
Lancaster played its first game after a 19-day layoff.
“It was nice to get back on the court,” Lancaster coach DJ Hein said. “The girls executed really well considering the layoff.”
Aaliyah Jackson led Antelope Valley (5-13, 3-5) with 12 points.
Lancaster will play Ventura on Saturday at noon at the Burroughs Showcase.
Antelope Valley will host Highland next Tuesday.
