Four University of Antelope Valley men’s soccer players, five women’s soccer players and one women’s volleyball player earned California Pacific Conference honors this week.

UAV senior forward Manuel Medina was named the Cal Pac Player of the Year for the men. He was also the lone Pioneer on the all-conference first team after finishing. The regular season with a team- and NAIA-high 31 goals. He also had five assists to lead the NAIA in points (68). Medina was on the all-conference second team last year.

Senior midfielders Sanson Lopez and Oscar Ramirez were named to the all-conference second team and junior midfielder Kevin Martinez received an honorable mention.

Ramirez was also awarded as UAV’s Champions of Character recipient for his hard work and leadership on and off the field.

For the women, senior midfielder Daisy Rodriguez and senior defender Nayeli Moreno were selected to the all-conference second team. Rodriguez led the Pioneers in goals (16), points (35) and game-winning goals (3).

UAV senior defender Reyna Ruiz and junior midfielder Alexa Benitez received honorable mentions.

Senior midfielder Brooklyn Pawelek was awarded as UAV’s Champions of Character recipient.

In volleyball, UAV senior outside hitter Alison Fuata was named to the all-conference second team. She led the Pioneers in kills (253), ranked second in digs (279), third in service aces (19) and fourth in total blocks (33).
