LANCASTER — The Quartz Hill baseball team beat Silverado 10-0 on Saturday in a Lancaster West Rotary Tournament game at Antelope Valley College.
Andrew Allanson led the Rebels (5-3) with three hits, including a double, and four RBIs, Mike Marshall finished 2-for-3 with two runs, Ryan Sanders was 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI and Noah Manzano scored two runs and drove in another two runs.
Sanders also shined on the mound, striking out six batters in five innings, giving up just two hits.
Quartz Hill will start defense of its Golden League title on Thursday at Knight.
Palmdale 6, Rosamond 3
ROSAMOND — The Palmdale baseball team beat Rosamond 6-3 in a Lancaster West Rotary Tournament game at Rosamond High on Saturday.
Justin Catano and Zach Escobar finished with two hits apiece for Palmdale and Jake Black had three RBIs.
Escobar also struck out three batters and threw 21 first-pitch strikes in seven innings.
Rosamond took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The Falcons scored two runs in the third and the Roadrunners tied the game with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
Palmdale scored three runs in the sixth inning.
Rosamond pitcher Angel Castanon struck out three batters and finished with two hits for the Roadrunners.
