ARCADIA — The Quartz Hill boys golf team’s season came to an end in the CIF-Southern Section Northern Division Team Championship at Santa Anita Golf Course on Tuesday.

The Rebels were missing two golfers — Derrick Rossmango and Noah Heming — who were taking AP tests.

Quartz Hill shot a 494. Only two teams from the division moved on to the next round. Servite finished first with a team score of 358, while Mater Dei was second with a 359.

“We knew we’d be a little overmatched, but still thought we’d have a better showing,” Quartz Hill coach Kevin Mahady said. “Disappointed we didn’t play our best golf at Team CIF, but we’re young.”

Ruben Duenez and Tanner Klundt each shot 95, while Dillon Rawlings picked up a 96, Nick Smith shot 100 and Luke Santero had a 108.

The Rebels won the Golden League team title this season and sent three players to CIF Individuals — Rossmango, Heming and Duenez.

“The GL championship is an accomplishment as was having three of the four CIF individual qualifiers,” Mahady said. “Good year overall, looking for a big improvement in 2020.”
