The Paraclete boys basketball team held its awards banquet over the weekend and honored six different players with recognitions.

Two Paraclete players also were named to the all-Gold Coast League team. 

Sophomore Amado Coleman was named to the all-GCL first team, while junior Nolan Boffman earned second team honors.

Coleman averaged 24.9 points per game, 10.3 rebounds, two assists and 1.9 steals. He led the Spirits in points and rebounds and was named the team’s Player of the Year.

Boffman was second on the team in points (13.6) and first in steals (2.3). He also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He was awarded Most Improved Player at the team’s banquet.

J.C. Anthony was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year. Anthony averaged 6.9 points, 5.4 rebounds

Junior Anthony Abel received the Coach’s award, while senior Cameron Olive was named team captain and sophomore Myles Rowley was given the Andy Gavel award, which is in honor of the late coach/assistant athletic director.

The Spirits started the season with a 20-0 record, capped off by a 61-54 overtime victory over Highland 61-54 in the Hunter Dodge AV New Year’s Classic championship game.

The team finished with a 22-7 record.

Paraclete is loosing just three seniors to graduation. The rest of the team consists of four juniors, three sophomores and one freshman.
