PALMDALE — The Knight girls tennis team defeated Rosamond 11-7 in a non-league match at Palmdale High on Wednesday.

Knight No. 2 singles player Esther Chamale swept all three of her sets, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3.

Knight No. 1 player Gayveth Dimas won two sets, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 and No. 3 singles player Kaylee Rocha won a set 6-3.

Both of the Knight No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams both won two sets.

The No. 1 doubles team of Bianca Gonzalez and Jennifer Avila went 1-6, 6-3, 6-1 and the No. 2 team of Perla Lizarraga and Zubaida Morataya finished 1-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

Vasquez 8, Paraclete 1  

PALMDALE — The Vasquez girls tennis team beat Paraclete 8-1 in a non-league match on Wednesday at Palmdale High.

Vasquez (3-3) won all three singles sets against short-handed Paraclete, a first-year program with five players.

Vasquez No. 1 singles player Caroline Fox won 6-0 to improve her overall record to 13-1.

Vasquez No. 2 player Sharon Kroul won 6-1 and No. 3 player Austyn McConnell won her singles match 6-2.

The Vasquez doubles team of Marie Osborn and Annabel Becker won their first set of the season, 6-1.

Vasquez will play at Desert High on Tuesday and at Rosamond High on Sept. 19.
