PALM SPRINGS — Four wrestlers from the Golden League advanced to the semifinals of their weight class at the CIF-Southern Section Central Division Prelims on Friday night at Palm Springs High School.

They will have a chance to compete for the title at the Central Division Finals today.

Knight senior Gabriel Silva advanced to the semifinals of the 106-pound weight class. Silva had two first-period pins to advance to the semifinals.

Highland sophomore Robert Estrada advanced to the semifinals at 113 pounds, with two quick pins.

Quartz Hill junior Jae Johnson advanced to the semifinals at 170 pounds.

Quartz Hill senior Luke Lambarth advanced to the semifinals at 285 pounds, scoring a 2-1 win over the No. 1 seed in the quarterfinals.

Boys Soccer

Palmdale Aerospace 2, 

Silverado 1

VICTORVILLE — The Palmdale Aerospace Academy boys soccer team defeated Silverado 2-1 on Friday in a CIF-Southern Section Division 6 second-round match at Silverado High.

The Griffins (15-4-1) had advanced to the second round of the playoffs the last three seasons and will host Pasadena Poly in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Palmdale 1, La Canada 0

LA CANADA — The Palmdale boys soccer team won at La Canada 1-0 in a CIF-Southern Section Division 5 second-round match on Friday.

Palmdale will play at Desert Hot Springs in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Boys Basketball 

Eastside 67, South El Monte 62

SOUTH EL MONTE — The Eastside boys basketball team won at South El Monte 67-62 on Friday in a CIF-Southern Section Division 4A second-round game.

Eastside will host Cabrillo in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. Cabrillo defeated Beacon Hill 51-31 in the second round on Friday.

Lancaster will play in a Division 4A second-round game at Loma Linda Academy today.
