Jingle Jog: The Jingle Jog 5K run/walk, staged by the High Desert Runners, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 21 at Marie Kerr Park, 2723 West Rancho Vista Blvd.
The 5K will start at 9 a.m. with a 1K Elf Run starting at the conclusion of the 5K, approximately at 10 a.m. Shirts guaranteed for the first 200 to pick up bibs. Mugs guaranteed for the first 200 finishers.

The price is $400 per team (extra fee for non-residents) and the roster maximum is 16 players per team. League fees cover classification games, 10 regular league games, umpire fees, softballs, field maintenance and league awards.
Leagues offered are men’s slow-pitch and coed slow-pitch. Classification Games will begin on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Tournament: The city of Lancaster is hosting a Christmas 1-Pitch Tournament for men’s and coed teams called “Christmas Toys 4 Girls & Boys on Saturday, Dec. 21at Sgt. Steve Owen Memorial Park.
The cost is $250 per team, plus an unwrapped toy per player of $5 or more. There will also be a home run contest for another fee.

Classes: JCJ/ATA, the Community Tennis Association in the A.V., and Net Generation are taking tennis to new heights in the Antelope Valley. Net Generation is a nation wide USTA tennis program that will make tennis accessible to more kids ages 8 to 17 years old.
The NJTL tennis program, which has been based at Jane Reynolds Park in Lancaster since 2008, will continue to offer low cost tennis lessons to kids who would not ordinarily have the opportunity to take tennis lessons. The goal of the program has not changed, just it’s name and scope.

New classes: With classes starting at $40 per month, Excel Tennis strives to put a racket in the hands of any person who wishes to learn or improve their game.
