STRIKEOUT QUEEN — Quartz Hill Little League minors softball Wolverines pitcher Rylee Christensen pitched a perfect game on Friday, striking out all 12 batters she faced in a four-inning contest.

QUARTZ HILL — The Quartz Hill Little League minor softball Wolverines got a perfect game from pitcher Rylee Christensen in a 16-0, four-inning win over the Gators on Friday evening.

Rylee struck out all 12 batters she faced — three looking. She threw the minimum nine strikes in the final two frames.

Rylee, who turned 10 last September, is a self-taught pitcher who has only pitched in about 10 games, which makes the accomplishment even more impressive.

“While I was trying to explain to her how rare what she did was, she simply said, ‘I just did my job, dad,’” said Rylee’s dad Zach Christensen, who is also the manager of the Wolverines.

Aside from her stellar pitching performance, Rylee also went 2-for-2 at the plate with two inside-the-park home runs and a walk.

“She is a peanut in stature but has a giant heart and an endless competitive spirit,” Zach said.
