There were so many tantalizing items on the menu, it was hard for my companion and myself to decide what to order for dinner last week. Be that as it may, we decided to try something different than our old favorites—Outlaw Burger, Flautas and Ribs! Instead, we ordered the Zucchini Stalks & Chicken Tornados, Galveston Seafood Alfredo, Surf and Turf and Strawberry Shortcake for Dessert.
The Italian breaded zucchini stalks were perfectly cooked—fried crisp and served with a very tasty made from scratch ranch dipping sauce and the tornados were very similar to southwest eggrolls I have had elsewhere only the seasoned chicken had an amazing flavor that I would consider a step above the rest. The combination of flavors and spices made for a very delicious appetizer.
My steak had an intense flavor—at first bite I was wrapped up in a bold and beefy flavor. The rich marbling inherent in this cut created a robust flavor and a delicious eating experience, so much so, that I was really happy my companion only asked for a bite! The grilled salmon that accompanied the steak had a subtle and refreshing taste—made possible from the mixture of lemon and dill. For my two sides I chose the loaded baked potato and onion rings—the perfect choice. Welcome to the world of toasty, garlicky, buttery goodness—otherwise know as Texas toast that is served with your entrée.
My companion’s pasta dish was amazing—the Alfredo sauce had a smooth, creamy texture that not only melted in my mouth but the flavor was out of this world. The sauce was fresh, simple and elegant creamy. Bite size shrimp and crab sautéed with mushrooms, bell peppers and tomatoes completed this dish giving it a very savory and rich taste. I definitely recommend trying this the next time you visit Texas Cattle Company; you will be very satisfied.
As mentioned earlier we had the Lone Star Strawberry Shortcake for dessert—a true masterpiece. Layers and layers of deliciousness, topped off with mounds of whipped cream and strawberries. Its greatness lies in the contrasts of textures and flavors of simple cake, fruit and cream—moist and dry, sweet and tart, creamy and light.
Everything we had was prepared with high quality rich taste and made fresh to order. A very satisfying and delicious meal.
