Sit down at any table inside Texas Cattle Company and you can expect a big-deal meal—and a real adventure. Chef Drew serves up thrilling BBQ combinations of steak, chicken and ribs with an extensive and fun menu—something for everyone. There is definitely a Texas theme going on with the different categories like Pasadena Potato Patch, Lone Star Steaks, Texas Hold’em Grill Burgers, Infamous Texas Melts, Wanted Dawgs and Chili, Yellow Rose of Pastas and Buckaroo menu for the little ones. The restaurant is decorated in a Texas theme motif with lots of fun and interesting wall hangings, signs and the newly remodeled bar or watering hole as they call it in Texas!

Texas Cattle Company is among an elite group of restaurants serving Certified Angus Beef brand entrees. Uncompromising standards ensure it’s a cut above USDA Prime, Choice and Select, making it the best-tasting beef available.  Chef Drew hand cuts, seasons and charbroils all steaks which are served with choice of soup or salad, baked potato or fries and Texas toast.  A few of the scrumptious steaks offered are Rib eye (12 ounces and well marbled), Top Sirloin (a traditional favorite), Garlic Pepper-Crusted New York Strip (succulent steak crusted with a delicate combination of garlic, pepper and herbs, fire grilled to your specifications), Porterhouse (20 oz bone-in) and Bacon-Wrapped Filet Mignon (the crème de la crème of tenderness).

If you are hungering for BBQ, try any one of the amazing Award Winning Barbeque entrees: Hickory-Smoked Tri-Tip (fresh, uniquely seasoned and slow smoked over hickory wood), Texas BBQ Smoked Brisket (slow hickory smoked whole brisket, marinated and hand rubbed with Texas Cattle’ Company’s signature spice blend), Baby Back Pork Ribs and BBQ Chicken (half chicken slow roasted and charbroiled).  If you aren’t able to decide which of these wonderful tasting items, then try one of the Lone Star combos which is a combination of the most popular BBQ items.

Seafood entrees that are offered have names like Texas Gulf Fish and Chips, Grilled Lemon-Pepper or Kickin’ Cajun style Tilapia, Grilled Norwegian Salmon and Surf and Turf—9 oz New York strip steak and lemon dill glazed salmon filet. If you are in the mood for a melt there are quite of few: Hidalgo Country (Certified Angus Beef, large fried egg, Texas smoked bacon and double cheddar on ciabata bun), Classic Patty, Tri-Tip Cheddar, Rockport Turkey and Ortega. Plus, there are fourteen amazing sounding Certified Angus Beef, full half-pound ground chuck burgers to choose from! For the health conscious a garden burger or turkey patty may be substituted.

If it is pasta you are looking for; look no further, as there are some amazing sounding pastas to tickle your taste buds like Kickin’ Cajun Chicken Jalapeno, All-American Alfredo, Cajun Salmon, Galveston Seafood Alfredo and Texas Primavera.

There were so many tantalizing items on the menu, it was hard for my companion and myself to decide what to order for dinner last week. Be that as it may, we decided to try something different than our old favorites—Outlaw Burger, Flautas and Ribs! Instead, we ordered the Zucchini Stalks & Chicken Tornados, Galveston Seafood Alfredo, Surf and Turf and Strawberry Shortcake for Dessert.

The Italian breaded zucchini stalks were perfectly cooked—fried crisp and served with a very tasty made from scratch ranch dipping sauce and the tornados were very similar to southwest eggrolls I have had elsewhere only the seasoned chicken had an amazing flavor that I would consider a step above the rest. The combination of flavors and spices made for a very delicious appetizer.

My steak had an intense flavor—at first bite I was wrapped up in a bold and beefy flavor. The rich marbling inherent in this cut created a robust flavor and a delicious eating experience, so much so, that I was really happy my companion only asked for a bite! The grilled salmon that accompanied the steak had a subtle and refreshing taste—made possible from the mixture of lemon and dill. For my two sides I chose the loaded baked potato and onion rings—the perfect choice. Welcome to the world of toasty, garlicky, buttery goodness—otherwise know as Texas toast that is served with your entrée.

My companion’s pasta dish was amazing—the Alfredo sauce had a smooth, creamy texture that not only melted in my mouth but the flavor was out of this world. The sauce was fresh, simple and elegant creamy. Bite size shrimp and crab sautéed with mushrooms, bell peppers and tomatoes completed this dish giving it a very savory and rich taste. I definitely recommend trying this the next time you visit Texas Cattle Company; you will be very satisfied.

As mentioned earlier we had the Lone Star Strawberry Shortcake for dessert—a true masterpiece. Layers and layers of deliciousness, topped off with mounds of whipped cream and strawberries. Its greatness lies in the contrasts of textures and flavors of simple cake, fruit and cream—moist and dry, sweet and tart, creamy and light.

Everything we had was prepared with high quality rich taste and made fresh to order. A very satisfying and delicious meal.
