Roscoe is a 10 year old black neutered German shepherd. He came to the Palmdale Animal Care Center on Feb. 5 as a stray. Roscoe has shown to be friendly to people and loves attention. During his play yard time, he displayed his tolerance and non-reactive toward other dogs. He displayed a gentle and dainty play style. Leondra is an eight-year-old spayed bull terrier. She came to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as an owner surrender on Feb. 10, as her previous owner could no longer continue to care for her. Leondra is an easy-to-handle dog. She walks well on leash and has shown a great demeanor toward people and other dogs. She was social and non-reactive when she joined a play group. While in the yard, she was tolerant of other dogs. She played well with large dogs. She has a gentle and dainty play style. Bella is an eight-year-old spayed female brindle pit bull mix. She was surrendered due to her owner passing away. Although she was surrendered with two other dogs, the Lancaster Animal Care Center is recommending she go to a home with no other dogs because she strongly rejected any other dogs coming near her in the play group. She is extremely calm and solicits pets from handlers leaning into their hands and legs. She would make a great companion for relaxing walks or to hang out at home with. If there are any children in the home, it is recommended they are middle school aged or older. Shadow is a three-year-old neutered male Labrador retriever. He came to the Lancaster Animal Care Center as a stray, and his full list of adopters never showed. Overall, Shadow is timid but warms up quickly. When handlers approach the kennel, he greets them and engages them calmly. After a few moments, he is licking hands and pressing into handlers for attention. With other dogs in the play yard, he is initially unsure but warms up quickly, enjoying exploring the yard around the calmer dogs. He did not appreciate when energetic dogs tried to engage him in physical play, so the center is requiring he go to a home with calm dogs. If there are any children in the home, they must be eight years or older. Lily is a five-year-old female domestic medium-hair cat. Upon first meeting attendants, she was right at the kennel door rubbing against it. She gives off light meows beckoning people for attention. When she finally gets the attention, she rubs her forehead against the reaching hand, loving every bit of affection.
