Amazed and stunned
The longer President Trump is in office, the more I’m amazed and stunned by some of the tweets he sends.
Take his recent tweet, that I assume is being addressed to congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar, where he would like them to go back to where they came from.
Don’t you realize that three of these fine women were born in the United States, and the fourth was a refugee who was granted citizenship through the Naturalization process?
We are hearing that Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, has called them “a bunch of communists.”
Really, are they truly communist? I have never heard any of these ladies wanting to do away with private property, which is one of the core principles of communism.
President Trump’s administration moved on July 15, to effectively end asylum for any migrant who arrives at the U.S.-Mexico border. This can be seen as an enormous shift in United States immigration policy that could block hundreds of thousands of people from seeking protection in the United States.
The new rule would bar asylum claims for nearly all migrants from any country. It would do so by prohibiting claims from anyone who has passed through another country en route to the U.S., which essentially would cover anyone other than Mexican residents.
There is such a difference where the Grand Old Party has gone under President Trump.
I recall President Reagan saying, “Thanks to each wave of new arrivals to this land of opportunity, we’re a nation forever young, forever bursting with energy and new ideas, and always on the cutting edge, always leading the world to the next frontier... If we ever closed the door to new Americans, our leadership in the world would soon be lost.”
A ‘political tactic’
By telling the four women Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar from Minnesota, Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley from Massachusetts — three of whom were born in the US — to “go back” to where they came from, Trump employed the basic and crude racial taunt.
He also implicitly rejected the motto emblazoned on America’s Great Seal — E Pluribus Unum — from many one. He is implying that any American who is not white and native born has no place in the country.
The reason why Trump’s attack was not surprising is because it fits into a pattern of racially charged rhetoric that he has been willing to use in private life — dating back to his comments on the Central Park Five and the “birtherism” campaign against Obama.
Per Karen Tumulty, for Trump, racism is not a moral failing; it is a political tactic. None of us can really claim to understand what is in his heart, but the cynicism of his actions is apparent, and it must be exposed for what it is.

Fireworks, illegals and Trump
It just amazes me how so many people think illegal is okay. Illegal aliens illegal fireworks I live in Lancaster I’ve been here since 1987 and there are not supposed to be any fireworks that makes them illegal and it was a war zone for six hours around Lancaster Boulevard 10th Street West Sierra Highway K a war zone for two weeks before and two weeks after we had fireworks blasting off just like it was the 4th of July. Our animals were petrified, my grandkids were petrified and they wanted to know how come the sheriff doesn’t go and get those bad people that are not supposed to have those fireworks. I told them I don’t know, so I’m asking the sheriff right now: “Where were you guys? Not one arrest for illegal fireworks.”
0r if I’m wrong, can you please tell me how many arrests did you make for illegal fireworks? So again I say if it is illegal weather it be fireworks or illegal aliens. The law is the same illegal send them back and have them come back here the right way and that’s it in the sheriff should really have some balls and arrest people for illegal fireworks vote Trump 2020.
Nothing in life is free
I don’t write often but this is bothering me enough to share my opinions.
As I understand our governor’s stance, he wants to make all illegals eligible for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and free health care.
I, too, have feelings for the people who are coming to America because of their many reasons of desperation.
But, again, as I understand it, the country is already claiming that Medicare and Social Security are almost out of funding. Why are we not worried more about the many seniors who will be affected if this happens? Why are we not worried more about our many veterans who are homeless or living in poverty? Why are we not worried more about the thousands of homeless who camp in our communities constantly? Where is the funding to allow them the same privileges that our state government wants to give to those who are in our state illegally?
It seems to me that if you come to our state illegally, you are eligible for all the services that we who have worked most of our lives do not receive. There can be no free because someone has to pay for all this.
Take note all you young people, nothing is free! I have worked since I was 10 and am now 84 and have yet to receive anything free. You must work not expect people to hand you all they have worked for their entire lives.
