LANCASTER — A woman was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in Lancaster.
Shortly after 2 a.m. deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station received a 911 hang-up call from a home in the 44000 block of Cedar Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered a woman inside the house in her late 20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Right now there’s no suspect. We don’t have a suspect description,” Lt. Derrick Alfred told a news photographer at the scene.
Alfred added that they interviewed additional people who were in the home at the time of the shooting to try to determine what occurred.
“It’s very early in the investigation and we have no suspect and no suspect description,” Alfred said.
Authorities are trying to determine what the relationship is between the victim and the other people who were in the house at the time of the shooting.
The shooting apparently took place inside the home, Alfred said.
Authorities have not identified the victim, described as and African-American woman in her late 20s, pending notification of next of kin.
