COLLISION — A bus carrying about a half-dozen special-ed students collided with a minivan on Avenue J Wednesday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

LANCASTER — No one was injured Wednesday afternoon in a collision between a van and an Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency bus in Lancaster.

The collision took place shortly before 2 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue J and Lowtree Avenue, California Highway Patrol Officer Gil Hernandez said.

A Honda Odyssey van traveling west on Avenue J pulled into the intersection at Lowtree Avenue, where it collided with the bus traveling south on Lowtree.

The bus was carrying about a half dozen special needs students at the time. No one on either the school bus or the van was injured, Hernandez said.

A second minor incident between a school bus and a parked car happened at about 3:30 p.m. near 4th Street East and Woodlark Street in Lancaster. There were a couple students on the bus, but no one was injured in this incident either, Hernandez said.
