PALMDALE — A second drive-up COVID-19 testing site is expected to open today at the Antelope Valley Mall, a partnership with Los Angeles County and the city of Palmdale.

The site will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Testing is available only by appointment to eligible residents. Visit  https://corona-virus.la/ to register for testing and receive an appointment if qualified.

Testing is available for those with COVID-19 symptoms who are age 65 or older or who have underlying chronic health conditions, and those who are subject to the mandatory 14-day quarantine period due to being exposed to someone confirmed to have COVID-19 and with at least seven days of quarantine remaining.

The Centers for Disease Controls say the most common symptoms of COVID 19 are fever, cough and difficulty breathing.

A similar testing site opened Wednesday in Lancaster at the High Desert Medical Group’s main clinic, 43839 15th St. West.

County officials are also working to confirm a second Lancaster testing site.

The same website may be used to register for testing anywhere within Los Angeles County.
