PALMDALE — A 29-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle, head-on crash, allegedly alcohol-related that involved an Eastside Union School District principal who was placed under arrest, authorities said Thursday.

About 6:50 p.m. Thursday, a 2014 Jeep Wrangler driven by Enterprise Elementary School Principal Mary Kruppe, 35, of Pearblossom was southbound on 50th Street East, north of Avenue P, traveling at an unknown speed when she drove into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2010 Mazda 3 driven by Lancaster resident Jessica Ordaz, killing her, according to a report by California Highway Patrol Officer Jason Murawski.

Ordaz was pronounced dead at the scene. Her relatives have been notified, Murawski said.

Kruppe was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital with moderate injuries, he said.

Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the collision, Murawski said.

Eastside Union School District superintendent’s office confirmed that Kruppe is a principal at Enterprise Elementary School. The district had no further comment.

Witnesses with any information about the traffic collision are encouraged to contact the Lancaster CHP Office at (661) 948-8541.

Two lives ruined, and many more family members hurt (forever) "Alcohol the great remover...it will remove your friends, it will remove your family, it will even remove your life. When it comes to removing things.. "alcohol" is second to none."

A taxi ride from Lancaster, where she worked, to her home in Pearblossom would have costed between $49 and $69.
Uber costs even less.
Instead, a young woman is dead and another has lost her job, faces jail time and costs of more than $10,000.
Do not drink and drive. Save a life, maybe even your own, and heartache for your family and other families.
Call for a ride!
