PALMDALE — Palmdale School District Superintendent Raul Maldonado’s cabinet will have new faces after the retirement of Deputy Superintendent Stacy Bryant and Assistant Superintendent of Special Education/Student Services John Porter.
Porter and Bryant will retire at the end of the school year.
Porter worked for the District about 24 years. He has served in his current position since July 2010. Bryant started with the District in 2010 as assistant superintendent.
She was named deputy superintendent in 2015. She worked for the Antelope Valley Union High School District for 25 years previously.
The District’s governing Board approved a contract with Ryan Beardsley as assistant superintendent of Human Resources at its April 16 meeting.
Beardsley’s contract runs from May 1 to June 30, 2022.
He will also earn $157,811 a year as an assistant superintendent.
“We’re very happy to have him because he is a home-grown person. He grew up in the community and he went up the ranks,” Palmdale School District Superintendent Raul Maldonado said.
Beardsley started as a teacher in the District. He served as principal of David G. Millen Magnet Academy.
“To have him here in the District office really says a lot about his educational preparation and his commitment to the community,” Maldonado said.
The Board approved Shadow Hills Magnet Academy Principal Donna Campbell as the District’s new assistant superintendent of Special Education/Student Services.
“She’s had a terrific career in the Palmdale School District. She’s moved up the ranks,” Maldonado said.
Campbell’s contract will run from July 1 through June 30, 2022.She will earn $157,811 a year as an assistant superintendent.
