Macron condemns Turkey’s ‘criminal’ actions in Libya

PARIS — French President Emmanuel Macron lashed out Monday against Turkey’s “criminal” responsibility in Libya.

Speaking during a visit to Germany, Macron strongly condemned Turkey’s actions in Libya as “unacceptable.”

He said Turkey “doesn’t respect any of its commitments.” France sees Ankara as an obstacle to securing a cease-fire in the conflict-torn country.

Tensions between France and Turkey escalated following a June 10 incident between Turkish warships and a French naval vessel in the Mediterranean, which France considers a hostile act under NATO’s rules of engagement.

Cuomo: Trump should wear mask

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday called on President Donald Trump to sign an executive order requiring people to wear a mask in public and to “lead by example” by wearing one himself.

“We did it two months ago in this state,” said Cuomo, a Democrat, adding that other states that initially resisted mask mandates are now requiring them. “Let the president have the same sense to do that as an executive order and then let the president lead by example and let the president put a mask on it, because we know it works.”
