ROSAMOND — Detective with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an incident that left a man dead.

At 10:03 a.m., Sunday, the Kern County Sheriff’s Officer received reports of a shooting in the area of 260th Street West and Gaskell, in Rosamond. When deputies arrived, they found a deceased 38-year-old man, who had multiple gunshot wounds. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate.

While the investigation was underway, detective located several properties in the area, on which marijuana was being illegally grown. As a result, narcotics detectives were called to the scene to investigate the cultivation. They seized hundreds of marijuana plants.

No arrests have been made in either case, but the Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone with information about either case is urged to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110 or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
