LANCASTER — Lancaster Sheriff’s Station deputies on Sunday morning located a 68-year-old woman with a diminished mental capacity who went missing the previous evening.

Laura Ann Williams was last seen about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at a grocery store in the 700 block of West Avenue K-4.  Authorities had sought the public’s help to find her.

“Our patrol deputies worked all night searching for a critically missing elderly woman,” a post on the station’s Facebook page said. “As soon as the sun came up, we started another search on foot with K-9. The woman was found shortly before 8 a.m.”

Deputies found Williams just in time for the motor units to head to the Fallen Heroes Ride.

“This really is a community effort and we are thankful for each one of you,” the post said.

On Monday morning, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that Williams had been found and had been reunited with her family. Other details were not released.
