LANCASTER (CNS) — A man was in custody for allegedly killing his 93-year-old great-aunt in Lancaster.

Marc Ellison, 36, was booked on suspicion of murder in the death of Mildred Jansen, 93, of Lancaster, who was found dead about 2:10 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 44200 block of 23rd Street West, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Ellison was booked on suspicion of murder, and was being held on $2 million bail.

According to Deputy Charles Moore, deputies went to the residence on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and found the woman, who had suffered blunt force trauma to her upper body.

The suspect was detained at the scene, and a weapon was recovered.

An autopsy was pending. A motive was unknown.
