Months of community service projects, etiquette training and waltz lessons will culminate for 10 young Antelope Valley ladies at the Alpha Charter Guild 54th annual Hourglass Presentation Ball.
In floor-length white ball gowns, the Debutantes will join family and friends at “An Evening at the Met Gala” on Nov. 30, at the AV Fairgrounds, Van Dam Pavilion.
Social hour will begin at 5 p.m., with the Presentation of the Debutantes at 6 p.m. and dinner and dancing to follow.
This year’s honorary Ball Chairwoman is Dr. Michele Bowers, superintendent of Lancaster School District. Mistress of Ceremonies will be Allison Williams, Alexandra Fernquist will deliver the invocation, there will be a welcome address from the President of the Alpha Charter Guild Leah Fernquist, 1st VP Ball Chairwoman Eva Eveland and 2nd VP Debutante Chairwoman (Deb Mom) Katrina Stello. The AV Union High School District ROTC Program Cadets will escort the Debutantes.
The following Debutantes will be presented: Chloe Nicole Busbee, daughter of Keith and Hollie Busbee; Corrina Gloria Camacho, daughter of Gus and Rhonda Camacho; Hannah Renee Delgado, daughter of Robert Kenney and Renee Hofmann; Victoria Juliet Fox, daughter of Rebecca Fox; Aliyah Nicole Guardado, daughter of Angela Smith; Camille Alysse Jakeway, daughter of Chadwick and Kristie Jakeway; Jennafer Diane Kelley, daughter of Jeffery and Sherry Kelley; Ariana Michelle Medina, daughter of Juan and Becky Medina; Grace Elizabeth Navarro, daughter of Louis and Jennifer Navarro; and Danielle Zamora, daughter of Albert and Tiiffanie Zamora.
For many Debutantes, this is their first introduction to community service and philanthropy.
They have a fashion show in the summer, with all proceeds going to the Antelope Valley Hospital. In addition, they serve at various community fundraising events helping other organizations with donations of time and energy.
