LANCASTER — Lancaster Sheriff’s Station traffic investigators are investigating the circumstances of a fatal traffic collision Saturday night involving two vehicles that killed one driver.

The collision occurred about 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue L and 80th Street West.

Preliminary investigation indicates a male adult in a gray truck was southbound on 80th Street West and a male adult in a white sedan was westbound on Avenue L when the vehicles collided. The male adult driver of the gray truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

The cause of the collision is still being investigated. Speed appears to be a factor in the collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs are a factor.

The intersection at 80th Street West and Avenue L is a T-intersection with a stop sign at 80th Street West.

Detective Matthew Davis said Monday it is too early to say whether the driver of the gray truck ran the stop sign.

“We’ve got to do some more extensive investigations on that,” Davis said.

The other driver suffered minor injuries.

Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Traffic Investigators at Lancaster Sheriff Station by calling 661-948-8466.
