LANCASTER — Monday afternoon the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station received a 911 call from a homeowner who said someone was breaking into his home. The resident, fearing for his safety, locked himself in the bathroom and called the station, according to a post on the station’s Facebook page.

As deputies arrived, they saw two male juveniles running out of the resident’s home. Acting quickly, deputies set up a containment of the area and began searching for the suspects. One suspect was apprehended a short time later within the area deputies had contained. However, the second suspect remained outstanding.

Deputies did not give up their search and held their containment locations. Finally, several hours after the initial call came in, deputies located the second suspect, inside the containment area.

According to the post the resident did the best thing a victim can do: Get a good description of what the suspect(s) look like and what they are wearing, then get to a safe place. Think top to bottom: hat/hair, color of shirt/sweater, color of pants/shorts, tall/short, skinny/heavy-set and finish with anything that stands out. like bright green shoes or carrying a backpack.
