PALMDALE — One person was killed and another person was injured during a head-on crash Saturday in the area of 50th Street East and Palmdale Boulevard, the same area where a 54-year-old Lancaster woman died nearly 48 hours earlier.

Saturday’s crash involved a 1998 Toyota Camry and a 2017 Dodge Challenger. The crash occurred about 1:25 a.m. in the area of 50th Street East and Palmdale Boulevard, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported.

The Camry was northbound on 50th Street East when it veered into the southbound lanes and into the path of a 2017 Dodge Challenger. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Paramedics rushed another person to an area hospital and that person’s condition was not immediately known, according to a county fire department dispatcher.

The deceased was a male, a passenger in the Toyota Camry, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
