The first freezing temperatures of the season are expected tonight, as the National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for the Antelope Valley, effective from midnight to 9 a.m. Friday.
The warning means temperatures overnight are expected to be between 29 and 32 degrees for more than two consecutive hours.
Additionally, a hard freeze watch is effect from late Friday night through Sunday morning, with temperatures predicted to fall betweem 22 to 28 degrees.
Residents should take precautions to protect animals by bringing them inside, cover sensitive plants and wrap exposed pipes to keep them from bursting.
