LANCASTER — Antelope Valley College trustees unanimously awarded an approximately $5.49 million construction contract for the future Marauder Complex to MVC Enterprises Inc. at Monday night’s meeting.

The Temecula-based MVC Enterprises, also known as Moreno Valley Construction, was the lowest bidder out of a total of nine responsive bidders.

The Marauder Complex project will include site work for utility connections for six modular buildings, fire lane access and hardscape requirements. Once complete, the complex will provide office, training and locker room facilities for AV College athletics programs as well as transition facilities for the pending future gymnasium renovation project.

AV College President Ed Knudson said after the meeting there is no place for football teams to dress on the other side of the stadium.

The college will also get matching funds from the state to refurbish the gymnasium, including the locker rooms.
