HOLLYWOOD (CNS) — Arson investigators looking into the cause of a Hollywood brush fire arrested a man suspected of setting that and other fires, authorities said Saturday.
It started at 1:30 p.m. Friday with a fire held to half-acre, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
It took 65 firefighters about 30 minutes to put out that fire despite encountering some dry hydrants, he said.
Arson investigators talked to witnesses and looked at physical evidence that led them to talk to a man in his late 50s or early 60s and arrest him on suspicion of arson on forest land, Prange said.
The man — whose name has not been released — is suspected of setting four to five related fires Friday afternoon.
