TORRANCE (CNS) — Power was restored to almost all Southern California Edison customers left in the dark after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole Saturday, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 3:36 a.m., Torrance police Lt. Hector Bermudez said.

The driver told police he became distracted and hit a curb and utility pole, damaging the pole and causing power lines to fall, Bermudez said.

All southbound lanes and one northbound lane of Western remained closed between 190th Street and Toyota Way, with one northbound lane open, he said.

There was no indication anyone was injured, Bermudez said.
