CALIFORNIA CITY — The City Council will hold a special meeting this morning, its first under new state rules allowing for public meetings to be held virtually using video and teleconferencing during the COVID-19 crisis.

The meeting, a mid-year budget review, will begin at 10 a.m.

A video stream of the proceedings will be available on the city’s Web site, www.californiacity-ca.gov, under the “video feed” tab on the home page.

Comments may be emailed to cityclerk@californiacity-ca.gov

A conference call option is also available, with the ability for participants to comment. Those wishing to do so should email the city clerk at the above address to advise her that they will be calling.

Information on how to call in is available on the agenda, found on the city Web site.

The Council had originally scheduled the mid-year budget special meeting for March 20, but meetings were put on hold following the statewide prohibition on public gatherings in order to slow the spread of the disease.

Other Council meetings have been canceled, including Tuesday’s regular meeting, while provisions were made to hold them under the new rules.
