LANCASTER — A familiar face has returned to lead the Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance through a time of transition, as Patricia “P.J.” DelGaudio has been named as interim executive director.
DelGaudio previously worked for the organization from 2015 to 2018, as an executive assistant.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to work with our community leaders again,” DelGaudio said. “The Antelope Valley is my home and I intend to continue the great work GAVEA already does to promote business retention, expansion and attraction.”
GAVEA is the public-private partnership that facilitates business growth and opportunity within our 3,000 square-mile region, which encompasses North Los Angeles and East Kern counties.
DelGaudio takes over for former president and CEO Kimberly Maevers, who resigned her post in June, to pursue other career opportunities. She had led the organization since February 2013, guiding it in a new direction with the “Southern California’s Leading Edge” branding campaign for the region.
DelGaudio brings more than nine years’ experience in leadership, development and management with nonprofit, academic and community-based organizations in the Antelope Valley.
Her role as interim executive director began Aug. 12.
“We are extremely grateful to PJ for taking on the Interim role,” GAVEA Chairwoman Veronica Knudson said. “PJ’s knowledge of the organization and her passion for the community make her uniquely qualified to lead the organization.”
