Valley Life Editor Kim Rawley highlights the special efforts, interests or pet projects of a local individual or organization. Also making regular appearances is Annie's Mailbox, a favorite source of answers to sticky questions; In the Saddle by local columnist Valerie Zera, focusing on the local equestrian scene; Neal Weisenberger's Desert Gardener column, specifically geared toward the needs and interests of Antelope Valley gardeners; Family Way, in which local experts answer questions and address topics of pressing concern to families; and Martha Stewart on home decorating. In the VERNacular, by Vern Lawson, appears on Thursdays, and Senior Scene, by Bettie Rencoret, is published on Tuesdays. Regular features include Bulletin Board, a complete weekly, at-a-glance report on coming events, meetings and classes offered by public and private non-profit community groups; A Month's Worth, highlighting events scheduled for the coming month and A Week's Worth, recapping the coming week's events; and Helpline, guiding readers to community services and support groups for specific needs.
