Valley Life Section

Seven days a week, the Valley Life section keeps readers up-to-date on the people, places and events of the Antelope Valley present in the new millenium and beyond. Our readers meet a who's who of interesting people in the Antelope Valley and stay current with trends in living.

In addition to stimulating cover stories on people and the things that interest people, the section includes news of local organizations; brief items on the achievements of local people; bridal and anniversary news; health, fitness and medical updates; and fashion news.

Valley Life Editor Kim Rawley highlights the special efforts, interests or pet projects of a local individual or organization.

Also making regular appearances is Annie's Mailbox, a favorite source of answers to sticky questions; In the Saddle by local columnist Valerie Zera, focusing on the local equestrian scene; Neal Weisenberger's Desert Gardener column, specifically geared toward the needs and interests of Antelope Valley gardeners; Family Way, in which local experts answer questions and address topics of pressing concern to families; and Martha Stewart on home decorating.

In the VERNacular, by Vern Lawson, appears on Thursdays, and Senior Scene, by Bettie Rencoret, is published on Tuesdays.

Regular features include Bulletin Board, a complete weekly, at-a-glance report on coming events, meetings and classes offered by public and private non-profit community groups; A Month's Worth, highlighting events scheduled for the coming month and A Week's Worth, recapping the coming week's events; and Helpline, guiding readers to community services and support groups for specific needs.
