Hometown Hero Nomination Form

"The hero is one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by."
— Felix Alder

We need your help to find “Hometown Heroes” in our community. The Antelope Valley Press is preparing to publish its third annual Hometown Heroes special section, which annually honors people in our communities — ordinary individuals — who are doing or have done extraordinary things.

Heroes come in many shapes and forms from soldiers on the front lines defending our nation's freedoms to first-responders — firefighter, paramedics and law enforcement officers. Heroes also are our neighbors who give of themselves to make a difference in the lives of others.

The Valley Press would like you to tell us about your "Hometown Hero." Simply complete the form below and click the send button, or write us a nomination letter, less than 250 words. Nomination will be considered for the upcoming "Hometown Heroes" special section, to be published Sunday, May 25, 2008, only in the Antelope Valley Press.

Mail nominations to: The Antelope Valley Press, Hometown Heroes, P.O. Box 4050, Palmdale, CA 93590-4050. Or fax to: 661/947-4870. Please include your full name and telephone number and the full name and contact information for your nominee.

Nomination deadline is 5 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2008. For questions or details, call Special Sections Editor Jana Thorson at (661) 267-4132.
