* 4 yards of orange felt
* 1 yard of black felt
* 1 yard of green felt
* 1.5 feet of Velcro
* 1 sheet of green foam paper
* 1 sheet of orange foam paper
* Glue gun and glue sticks
* Fake leaves
* 8-1/2 by 14 inch sheet of paper
* An old newspaper
* Black outfit
Cut the orange felt in half, and place the two pieces evenly on top of one other.
Use chalk to create a large circular pattern on felt. Cut with scissors to create two circular patterns.
Glue the two longer sides completely together, glue the top leaving a hole in the middle for large enough for the head, and glue the bottom leaving two holes for the feet. (See Pattern)
*If you find that you made any of the holes too small, simply go back and cut to make them bigger.
Choose which side will be the backside. Cut a straight line down the center 1.5 feet, then glue the Velcro (soft side out) at the very edge of the slit so it will open and close.
Turn everything inside out so the seams and the glue no longer show.
Cut a zig-zag edge across the green felt and glue around the opening for the head.
Create patterns for the face of the jack-o'-lantern on 8-1/2 by 14 inch paper.
Cut out and trace the paper patterns on the black felt with chalk. Cut out the patterns and glue them onto the pumpkin.
Put on the costume and stuff with crumpled newspaper to give the pumpkin volume.
Cut out a circle with a 6-inch diameter from the orange foam paper.
Cut a 4 inch by 5 inch rectangle out of the green foam paper for the pumpkin stem. Glue the ends together to make a 4 inch high tube.
Glue the tube to the center of the orange circle. Glue the orange circle to the headband
Use left over green foam cut about 1/2 inch by 8 inches vine.
Glue the leaves to the vine and attach it to the stem.
