Office Clerk
The Antelope Valley Press is seeking an energetic, customer-oriented individual to assume responsibilities in the accounting/data processing department. This full time position assists with office workflow, compiles statistical data and assists with overall office operations. Position requires a working knowledge of customer service and general office procedures. Successful candidate must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and customer service skills.
Requirements include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong computer skills
- Good verbal, written and math skills
- 2 years general office and or accounting experience a must
- CIRCULATION -
Assistant Circulation Operations Manager
The Antelope Valley Press is looking for an individual to assist the Circulation Operations Manager. This position is responsible for assisting with management of customer service, home delivery and single copy sales and collections. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with staff and route management and ensuring efficient dock operations.
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Newspaper circulation or retail sales experience a plus
- Requires strong leadership, communication and presentation skills
- Must have basic computer and math skills; PBS experience a plus
- Knowledge of Bellatrix systems and ShoRack equipment a plus
Circulation Utility
This is a part-time dock position at our main Palmdale facility with early morning hours. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: counting and lifting bundles, loading vehicles, driving cube truck to satellite drop offs, cleaning dock, sorting and distributing proper paperwork.
Requirements include:
- Basic math and record keeping skills
- Positive attitude and good people skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 60 lbs. repetitively
- Valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance required.
- Clean DMV record - three year DMV printout must be presented with application/resume.
Newsrack Vending Machine Technician
This full-time position is responsible for maintenance, repair, and collection of newspaper vending machines. Training will be provided in assembly and installation of newspaper vending machines and repair of electronic mechanism.
Requirements include:
- Good communications skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Basic math and record keeping skills
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Mechanical background a plus
- Valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance required

Newsstand Service Route
Part-time position working early morning hours distributing newspapers to rack locations and dealer accounts. Shift starts at 12 midnight and ends at 5 a.m.
Requirements include:
- Completing and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repetitively
- Valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance required.

Single Copy Maintenance Supervisor
The Antelope Valley Press is looking for a maintenance supervisor to join our circulation department team. This position will be responsible for, and oversee, all aspects of newsrack installation, function, maintenance and collections. Will supervise and assist rack maintenance personnel. Must coordinate the procurement of the proper permits/licenses, payments of fees and installation, ensure ordinance compliance and maintain complete and accurate records. The ideal candidate should be mechanically inclined, have team leadership and supervisory skills, be organized and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Applicants must have a high school diploma and basic computer and math skills. Experience in circulation single copy distribution or related field a plus.
Redelivery Driver
Our fast-paced Home Delivery Department is seeking an energetic candidate to deliver newspapers to undelivered homes. Daily tasks include the proper redelivery of newspapers and adhering to customer requests while following customer service requirements. This part-time position requires a 5-hour/6-day schedule starting as early as 5:00 a.m.
Requirements include:
- Customer Service experience.
- Knowledge of route delivery and distribution a plus
- Familiarity with and ability to read and follow Thomas Guide map
- Valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance required

-MARKETING-
Graphic Artist
Our winning in-house creative services department is looking for a full-time graphic artist. The ideal candidate understands the meaning of collaboration, is highly creative, and has a passion for graphic design and a solid understanding of production, layout, typography and basic design principles. Must be able to work with a team, take direction and capable of producing high-end work for a variety of client needs. Qualified candidates must be comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and have an aptitude and interest in technology. This position will primarily involve print and digital ad building for a variety of clients.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Graphic Design preferred
- 2 years experience working as a graphic designer
- Great communication skills: visual, spoken and written
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- OPERATIONS -
Machine Operator
The Antelope Valley Press has a full-time position in our Distribution Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up insert equipment, monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing hoppers and downstream equipment, and maintaining insert equipment. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, training and monitoring insert crew for a safe and efficient insert operation; conducting preventative maintenance checks before, during, and after runs; and record and communicate equipment conditions. Salary range is negotiable depending on experience.
Requirements include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic math, reading, and communication skills
- Current Driver’s License and proof of current auto insurance required
- Mechanical experience a must
- Ability to bend, stand, walk, and lift at least 50 lbs.
