PADGETT, Roy B. It is with great sadness that the family of Roy B. Padgett, announce his passing after his battle with pancreatic cancer. Roy was born to Lyle and Floy Padgett on October 11, 1939 in Watertown South Dakota. As a young boy he farmed and worked with his dad in several family businesses. In 1959 Roy began building electrical power lines which brought him to southern California where he became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and then eventually settled here in Lancaster. In 1977 He became a salesman at Youngs RV Center and ten years later he purchased that dealership. During his time owning the dealership he was one of the founding members of Cal RV Dealer Association. He also was a generous supporter of many community and youth programs throughout the Antelope Valley through the years. Roy enjoyed many years traveling and spending time with his wife of 33 years, Charlene, their children, grandchildren and dogs. In 2005 Roy retired and began his hobby of restoring classic cars and traveling to many car shows where he never failed to bring home a trophy or an award. In January 2017 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In typical Roy fashion, he never stopped fighting. He went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his family on June 29, 2018. He is survived by his wife Charlene (Boyd) Padgett; Son Troy Padgett and his wife Jessica; daughter Nicole and her husband Ryan McGuire; daughter Natalie and her husband Michael Hopper and their eleven grandchildren, Andrew, Corey, Dakota, Travis and Jillian Padgett; Zac, Makaela and Walker McGuire; Mikey, Noah and Nathan Hopper. His first great-granddaughter is due to be born in December. Also survived by his sister Janice and her husband Jim; brother Randy and his wife Jan; bother Ron and his wife Karen and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Floy and sisters Shiela and Norma. All monetary gifts will be donated to Royal Family Kids Camp, a non-profit organization that Roy and Charlene regularly supported. Memorial Service will be held this Saturday, July 7, 2018 11 am at Lancaster First Assembly of God, 44514 20th St. West, Lancaster.
