MCQUOWN, Charles Rick
MCQUOWN, Charles 'Rick' Born November 28, 1948 to Richard and Betty McQuown in Dayton Ohio. He moved to the Antelope Valley in 1959 and is an Alumni of Antelope Valley High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. After leaving the Army, he went to work in the aerospace industry for 42 years, where he worked for Lockheed before retiring from Northrop. He was married to Jeanne Heupel-McQuown for 34 years. He leaves behind his wife, son Eric and grandson Hayden, daughter Stacy (Mike) and grandchildren Kaylee and Ceira Sponenburg and Joshua and Samantha Baker, son Daniel Dawson (Jamie) and grandsons Nathan (Katherine), Jeremy (Karissa) Zech and granddaughter Emily Dawson, daughter Pamela Bellay and grandchildren Jenna and Jacob Bellay. He also has a sister, Margaret Halliwill (Jim). He is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Betty McQuown. Rick loved being with his family. He had a passion for camping and working with computers. He belonged to the AV High Desert Four Wheelers as well as the Saracens Car Club. Halley-Olsen-Murphy of Lancaster, Ca have been entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday, June 21 from 4-8 pm. The funeral is Friday, June 22 at 10 am and will be held graveside at the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, on Highway 203. In lieu of flowers, donations to a Veteran's Organization in his name would be appreciated.
