Obituary Notices and Memorials

TRENKLE, Kent 53, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 surrounded by family in his home in Palmdale, California. Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kent spent many summers on his family's farm and at the family lake house enjoying nature and sports as were his passions. As an ROTC graduate from Kansas State University, he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Kent went on to serve honorably for 8 years in the United States Air Force rising to the rank of Captain and serving several tours of duty at Edwards AFB and Cape Canaveral. After separating from the military, Kent went on to work for over 20 years at Lockheed Martin both in Sunnyvale and the Skunk Works Facility in Palmdale, CA making successful the many programs he served. There was nothing Kent could not fix, grow, or nurture to the fullest expression of its being. An intelligent, kind, humble, and patient man, he could kick a 50 yard field goal, dunk a basketball, high jump 6 and half feet, run marathons, ride centuries, and slalom into short line. When not gardening, enjoying sports, or spending time with his family, he volunteered with the Knights of Columbus at Saint Serra Parish, in Quartz Hill, Calif. Kent is preceded in death by his father, Dwain Trenkle and sister Diane (Johansen) McNeese. He is survived by his wife Annie Trenkle, son Luke Trenkle, daughter Julia Trenkle, parents Richard and Joanne Johansen, and siblings Nancy (Trenkle) King, Mike Johansen, and Tom Johansen.
