MULLINS, Vernon Charles
MULLINS, Vernon Charles Born July 30, 1955 in Albuquerque, N.M., went home to heaven on April 14, 2018 in Lancaster, Calif. Vern grew up in Arizona and graduated from Quartz Hill High School in 1974 Lived in the Antelope Valley from 1971-2018. He is survived by three sisters, Marie Nichols, Nikki Rawson (Rusty), Stephanie Figueroa; three brothers, twin Verdos (Bunny) Mullins, Walt (Tia) Mullins, Fletcher (Wendy) Mullins; two sons Gerald (Margie) Mullins, Travis Mullins; one daughter in law Mia Mullins; two grandchildren Layla and Natalie Mullins. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Goldie Mullins, daughter Deana Mullins, and sister Georgia Carroll. In 1971 Vern met the love of his life, Deana, and married in 1976, forty one and a half years; with a life filled with love, happiness. Vern was a dedicated loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, and uncle. He served and stood as a father-uncle role model to nieces, nephews, and young people and was a giver of himself. Vern served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and mentor and wanted those he loved and friends to know his Lord and Savior. Lives were changed because of his walk and life as an example living for the Lord. Vern started working in rock and asphalt plants in his teen years and has been a member of IUOE Local 12 for 44 years. He worked for Asphalt Construction Company for 32 years worked his way to Plant Superintendent overseeing the Littlerock, Mojave and Ridgecrest plants. He was diagnosed with cancer and battled one and a half years. He treasured time with his family camping, hunting, fishing. He was a man could fix anything he set his mind to: wood working, electrical, mechanical etc. He will be greatly missed by so many. Services Sat April 28, at 10:00 am at Assembly Of God Church 2881 C St., Rosamond. Reception following grave site service 2845 80th St. W. Rosamond.
