CRAWFORD,Curtis Jay Born February 17, 1929 in Alhambra, Calif. Died March 19, 2018 in Lancaster, Calif. He graduated from Alhambra High School in 1947 and Pasadena City College in 1949. He joined the California National Guard shortly after graduation from high school and joined the U.S. Army in 1951. He was assigned to the First Infantry Division and proudly served with 'The Big Red One' as a member of the U.S. Army of Occupation in Germany. Upon separation from the Army he began a long and varied career in insurance and banking retiring at age 82.He also spent many years both as a volunteer and a paid professional assisting in elder care both personal and financial. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Teresa, and his children Bill and Susan Crawford, Tom and Tammy Crawford, Christina and Bryan Stover, daughter- in-law Marcia Crawford, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Curtis was an active member of St. Junipero Serra Parish and 50 plus year member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered by his family and all who knew him as a kind and gentle man. Viewing will be this Thursday March 22, 2018 4-7 with a vigil 7-8. Funeral Mass will be this Friday March 23, 2018 at 11 am at Saint Junipero Serra Parish. Internment will be Monday March 26, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Arroyo Grande Cemetery District.
