GARDNER, John Wylie
GARDNER, John Wylie John Gardner aka 'Big John' Born December 7, 1934 in Wallace, Idaho. He passed away peacefully on Monday March 5, 2018 in Lancaster, California. John was raised in Wallace, Idaho and attended the University of Idaho, he later served in the United States Army, 1955-1957. John began working for the Federal Aviation Administration in 1961 during which time he was awarded The L.A. A.T.C.C. 'Group Sector of the Year Award' in 1972 and 1989. He was also awarded The 'Special Achievement Award. John retired in 1990 after 30 years with the FAA. John is survived by his sister Charlene Boyd (Gene), daughters, Natalie Passot, Patty Hughes (Jay), Debbie Hinds, Becky Donovan (Jef), Kari Frakes (Eric), and sons Jay Wylie (Cindra) and Matthew John, nine grandchildren; Alex Baca, Josh, Jake and Jack Hughes, Hollyann and Ian Hinds, Alyssa, Kayla and Braeden Buie. John also leaves behind nieces and nephews as well as his good friend Teri Baca. Graveside services will be held Thursday March 22, 2018 at 1 pm at Lancaster Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at The American Legion, 44355 40th Street East, Lancaster.
