HUDSON, Alice Owner of Reagan's Hallmark Shop and longtime Antelope Valley resident, passed away February 21, at the age of 80. Born in Berkeley, California she spent her early childhood in Tacoma, Washington. She graduated from Berkeley High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Chapman College as an English Major. In 1960, she married Walter Hudson and they spent a wonderful 55 years together before his passing in 2016. They moved to Lancaster from Mt. Shasta in 1972. After working at Reagan's Hallmark Shop for a few years, Alice and Walt bought the store in 1988. Alice's welcoming smile and cheerfulness made her the perfect Hallmark owner and many customers became close friends. She was just shy of celebrating her 30th anniversary as owner on March 1st of this year. She enjoyed volunteering for community concerts at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center and serving at the United Methodist Church Community Kitchen. She supported and participated in community groups including the AV Writers Club, the AV Genealogical Society and HAVOCC - the Hallmark Antelope Valley Ornament Collectors Club. She loved to garden and travel with Walt. Together with friends, they cruised European rivers and oceans, toured many countries and hiked the Sierras. Her devotion, kind heart and generous spirit inspired all of us that knew and loved her. She was a treasured friend, wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Nora, son in law Mark Endres and two grandsons Ryan, 27 and Nicholas, 18 of Long Beach. A memorial service will be held March 16, at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church at 918 West Ave. J in Lancaster.
