MASSARI, Mary Margo
MASSARI, Mary Margo passed away, surrounded by family, on February 22, 2018 in Lancaster at the age of 87. She was born on December 4, 1930 in Santa Ana, California to Marina and George Pappas. The daughter of Greek immigrants, Mary grew up in Santa Ana and moved to Lancaster in 1939. She attended Esperanza Elementary School, Antelope Valley High School (Class of 1948), Antelope Valley College and UC Santa Barbara. Mary was a teacher in the Palmdale School District in the 1950s. On January 11, 1953, she married local businessman, Louis Massari. Throughout her life, Mary enjoyed cooking, traveling and most importantly, her family. Mary is survived by their children, Dan Massari and his wife Luann, Marina Massari, John Massari and his wife Lauri, and Barbara Massari Horton and her husband Tom. She is also survived by her grandchildren Alex (Heather), Michael, Nicholas, Joey, Tommy, Gabrielle, Natalie, Alexa, and great granddaughter Francesca. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Bessie Hertel and brother, Tom Pappas. Services will be on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church located at 43404 30th Street West in Lancaster, California.
