JEWELL, Paul D. After a year-long battle with cancer, Paul went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2018, in Boise, with his loving wife, Diane by his side. Paul was born February 4, 1950, in Corvallis, Oregon to Donald and Eleanor (Youdarian) Jewell. He spent most of his life in California, where he worked for several animal parks, including Japanese Village and Deer Park, California Alligator Farm, and for 38 years, the Los Angeles Zoo. His interests were traveling to other countries, enjoying nature, visiting zoos all over the world, and especially spending time with his fun-loving family. Paul is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind Diane, his wife of 37 years, their three children: Lisa (Richard) Mondoux and their two sons, Ethan and Ryan of Rosamond, California, Sean (Sara) Jewell of Fife, Washington, and Jessica (Brandon) Greene of San Diego, California. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lynn (Lee) Randall of Meadville, Pennsylvania and Jane (Tom) Jewell- Vitale of Dubuque, Iowa. A memorial service for Paul is scheduled at the Desert Vineyard Church, 1011 E. Avenue I, Lancaster, for Saturday, February 17th, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people donate to the American Cancer Society or their favorite charity.
