POTES, Floyd L.
POTES, Floyd L. Born March 2, 1930 in LaHabra, Calif. Passed away on Feb. 2, 2018. During his Naval career, he served as a medic in Korea, trained as an x-ray technician and developed his career as a radiation physicist (during his 20 year Naval career). In 1969 he established an AMA approved nuclear medicine program at PGH. Elected president of the Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologists in 1973. After leaving PGH, he was employed at Tri City Hospital - Oceanside, later transferring to Sutter / Vallejo in the same capacity. Retiring in 1996, he returned to Palmdale. He was a 32nd degree Mason, ham radio operator for over 50 years, licensed and instrument rated pilot. Survived by wife Nancy, sons Robbin (Sari) of Frazier Park, Brett of Littlerock, Russell of Eureka, step-daughter Kari Blackmoore (Stephen) of Reseda, grandchildren Jason, Jonathan, Brittney, Cameron and Lauren plus 6 great grandchildren. He requested no services or flowers, donations to City of Hope - Duarte.
