SATHER, Robert Glenn
SATHER, Robert Glenn Born October 9, 1930 in Pomona, Calif. to Lewis Oscar Sather and Marguerite Elizabeth Sather (Ennis). He was the 4th of 5 children (with 1 brother and 3 sisters). At the age of 2 his father died suddenly of influenza and in the next few years the oldest 4 children, including Robert, were sent to an orphanage where they lived until they were 18. Robert graduated High School and soon after served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was decorated in battle and his unit received a Presidential Citation for Valor. After separating from the military he began his 35 years of service as a government employee working for the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles. There he met the love of his life, Janet Claire Munro to whom he was married for 42 years until her death in 2002. Robert passed on January 30, 2018. He is survived by his two sons, Donald (Dee Ann Sant) and Charles (Sandra Ann Moore), as well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and a 5th coming soon. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will forever be remembered for his quiet ways and his love for his wife and family.
