COPELAND, Richelle E.
COPELAND, Richelle E. Born July 28, 1953 in Toronto, Canada, she passed away on January 12, 2018. Moved to California at the age of 9 with her parents, Harold & Evelene Tanner and brother Robert Tanner. Graduated from Rapid City, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology University as a Registered Nurse, and later received a BA from University of Phoenix in Nursing and Oncology Studies. Richelle moved to Lancaster in her 20's and devoted 40 years of her life to helping others. RichelleƔs careers included working at Mira Loma High Desert Hospital, Visiting Nurses Association, St. Jude Childerns Research Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, AV Hospital, UCLA, AV Cancer Center, High Desert Medical Group, Palmdale Regional Medical Center and most recently, City of Hope. Married in 1984, she recently celebrated her 33rd wedding anniversary to her best friend Neil Copeland. Aside from being a dedicated nurse, her free time included quiet drives with her husband, adventurous vacations with family, planning events with her daughter, sewing and baking with her grandchildren or walking in the rain. She lived every day for her family. Richelle is survived by her husband Neil Copeland, brother Robert (Candi) Tanner, neice Katie (Jaime) Cortez, daughter Cassandra Copeland, sons Shan Flynn, Justin (Sissi) & Brandon (Michelle) Copeland and her 10 grandchildren Oscar, Marissa, Precila, Jasmin, Noah, Lucy, Faith, Eli, Silas and Ezra. Services will be held at Lancaster United Methodist Church, 918 West Ave. J, Saturday January 27th at 1pm. As a tribute to Richelle's exquisite personality, we will celebrate her life in FULL COLOR as she would not want family and friends to dress in all black.
