HUMPHREY, John Livingstone
HUMPHREY, John Livingstone Was born on December 8, 1923, the sixth of ten children born to Hugh and Amelia Humphrey. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 9, 2017, at the age of 93. He was named after his great, great uncle, Dr. David Livingstone, ('Dr. Livingstone, I presume?') the famous English missionary who discovered the Victoria Falls in Africa. John served with the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II and jumped into Normandy on D-day. During his service John was injured in the Battle of the Bulge, and earned the Purple Heart and the Bronzed Star. He was an actor, a father and grandfather. He is survived by his family, Mark and Mary Anne, Joseph, Christopher, Patrick and Gary and preceded in death by Virginia and Stephen. He was beloved and will always be remembered as 'Grampy' by his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Alyssa (aka Ellie), Jules, Raymond, Paul, Joshua, Taylor Breanne, and his great grandchild Vera Kay. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rosamond, CA, at noon on Saturday, November 18, 2017.
